SERVER OWNER
Ding's time in the military likely lead to his love of FPS (First Person Shooter) games. Years after he separated from the military he found his first ever DayZ roleplaying server. So, he dove in without any idea what he was really getting himself into. After a year he was promoted to a staff position at the behest of many in the community. He participated on the server's lore team and used his character to help move storyline on the server.
GROWING PAINS
MASSIVE LEARNING CURVE
The Unit had a rough start. No one anticipated the huge learning curve that came with running a game server. There were wipes, multiple map changes, and server crashes. It felt like every time the server gained any momentum there was a major setback.
FRIENDS

He created a faction (or as we call them, Unit) named S.T.A.R. There he met people who became good friends online. When it was time for Ding to move on to new endeavors many followed him to support his wish to create his own server in an Organic Roleplay style. None knew how tumultuous the road ahead would be, but all of them shared Ding's enthusiasm and wish to make a server unlike others before it.
FINALLY HOME

Thanks to an amazing group of loyal and patient players The Unit finally found it's forever home on the Island of Iztek. Alas, it wasn't meant to be as the map was removed from Steam. We are making our new home on Banov with a unique roleplay centric setup and lore. As the server grows Ding and his staff team work diligently behind the scenes to improve the community's experience.
